Welcome to The Wallet Diet, a lifestyle blog on personal finance, travel, and minimalism.
My name is Christine and I’m a freelance writer living in Toronto. When I graduated university in 2010, my student debt was over $35,000. I was also spending carelessly, had never created a budget, and was living paycheque to paycheque.
Something eventually sparked inside. I knew this lifestyle wasn’t sustainable and I was only digging myself a bigger hole. I made some serious lifestyle changes and over five years, I managed to pay off my debt while living on my own and travelling the world (21 countries and counting).
When I started The Wallet Diet in 2014, I billed myself strictly as a personal finance blog. It was a place to share my debt story and help others with their financial journey. Since paying off my debt, I’ve been able to shift my focus towards the other things that drive me in life, like travel, minimalism, and entrepreneurship. Of course, personal finance still plays an important role in my every day and I enjoy writing about it, so I’ve decided to rebrand myself as a lifestyle blogger to reflect the many topics that I’m passionate about.
Thanks for stopping by and joining me here!
