Christmas is my favorite holiday and I love spreading holiday cheer to friends and family in the form of Christmas cards. Not only is it nice to get snail mail but it’s also a good excuse to reconnect with the people in your life, like a good friend you haven’t spoken to in a while. Don’t underestimate what a simple gesture of mailing someone a card can do!
Before placing my order I took advantage of their custom samples option and received a sample of my cards in the mail. It gave me an idea of how exactly the cards will print, what the colors looked like in person vs. on-screen, and the paper quality.
We have a photo from our engagement photoshoot last year with some greenery in the back and it looks super Christmas-y, which worked out perfect with the theme.
We had other photos that worked great on the cards too. I also ordered samples of non-photo designs in case we decided to go with that option.
What I love about Basic Invite:
Hundreds of designs to suit your style and personality: There are over 250 Christmas and holiday card designs to choose from, and each one is fully customizable.
180 different color options with each design: I was able to change the color of each card element to match my photo and instantly preview it online. It’s one of the few websites to give you almost unlimited color options and see the changes instantly.
40 different envelope colors: I personally think the envelope is just as important as the card! You can match your envelope to your card design and make it stand out from regular white envelopes. Bonus — Basic Invite’s envelopes are peel and seal so no need for licking yucky glue.
Add some shine and sparkle to your cards: A collection of flat or raised foil holiday cards are available in gold, silver, and rose gold.
Address capturing service: You’ll receive a link to share on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, or any other form of social media to request your friends and family’s addresses, which will then be stored under your account for ordering. They also offer FREE recipient address printing on all Christmas card orders.
I know it’s only October but the holidays will creep up on you! To avoid sending out too early or too late, mailing out Christmas cards in the first week of December will leave plenty of time for your international recipients to get them too.
